Water reaches what string floss walks past

A pulsating jet flushes the gaps between your teeth and the pocket just under the gumline — the places a brush head is too wide to enter and floss slides straight over.

The pattern in our reviews is hard to miss: people who already brush with a good electric toothbrush still find the flosser brings something up afterwards.

Hold the tip at the gumline, lean over the sink, close your lips, and work along one side then the other. Most people finish a full pass on two tank fills.

Four nozzles, and what each one is actually for

Every Hetrios Water Flosser ships with four specialist tips. Twist to release, twist to lock — no tools.

Standard jet — your everyday tip. Use it on any of the five pressure modes for general cleaning between teeth.

Orthodontic — a tapered tip with a small brush at the end, made for working around brackets, wires and bands.

Periodontal — a soft, slim tip for guiding water gently into deeper pockets and around sensitive gumlines.

Tongue cleaner — a scoop-shaped tip for the surface of the tongue, where a lot of morning breath actually starts.

Braces, bridges, implants and crowns

Fixed orthodontics are exactly where string floss gives up. Threading tape under a wire every night is the reason most people quietly stop doing it.

Water goes under and around hardware in one pass. Fit the orthodontic tip, drop to a lower pressure mode, and trace the gumline above and below the bracket.

The same applies to bridges, implants and crowns — no threading, no snapping, nothing to catch.

A 300 ml tank that empties properly

300 ml is enough for a full mouth in one or two fills, on any of the five pressure modes.

The part owners keep singling out is the drain. A suction pipe runs to the bottom of the tank, so when you are finished the flosser pulls the last of the water back out instead of leaving it to sit. Michele S., whose own photo appears further down this page, put it plainly: her previous brand had no such feature and was hard to empty.

IPX7 waterproof, so the whole handle can go in the shower or under the tap. USB-C charges it to around 50 days of daily use.

Questions the reviews kept raising

Answered from the actual review file, not a template.

I have never used a water flosser. Is there a learning curve?

A short one, and the reviews are honest about it. Start on the lowest of the five pressure modes, put the tip in your mouth before you switch it on, lean over the sink and keep your lips almost closed. Nearly everyone soaks themselves once on day one and nobody mentions it again by week two.

Which nozzle should I be using?

Standard jet for everyday cleaning. Orthodontic if you wear braces. Periodontal for sensitive gums or deeper pockets. Tongue cleaner for the tongue surface. This was the single most common question in the reviews, which is why it now has its own section further up this page.

Does it replace string floss?

For most people it replaces the nightly floss they were skipping anyway, and several reviewers report their hygienist noticed the difference at the next appointment. If your dentist has told you to keep using tape for a specific reason, keep using it and add the flosser alongside.

How long does a charge last?

Up to around 50 days of daily use, over USB-C. A charge-level indicator on the handle tells you where you are, so it does not die on you mid-session.

Can I use it with braces, implants, crowns or bridges?

Yes. That is what the orthodontic tip is for, and it is one of the strongest use cases for water flossing generally, because there is nothing to thread and nothing to snap.

How often will I refill the 300 ml tank?

Most people get a full mouth out of one or two fills depending on the pressure mode. The tank also drains itself through the suction pipe when you are done, so it is not left holding water between sessions.

Is it waterproof?

IPX7. The whole handle can be rinsed under the tap or used in the shower.

What if I do not get on with it?

Send it back within 30 days for a full refund. Shipping is free and tracked in both directions.
